Batik Pekalongan
Plan to visit Indonesia? The first thing cross in your mind perhaps Bali? Yes I am agree with you that it is the most beautiful place on earth :) But, there is still plenty other thing to discover in Indonesia, Such as Java, Sumatra, Papua etc. It's rich with its heritage and culture. One word you may often heard is 'Batik'. What is it? It is a technique of making beautiful fabric from a wax and dyeing it as many times to get the colors you want. Some says, it begin thousand years ago that Indonesian start making batik, it become national symbol and pride that exist until now. You have not visited Indonesia if you don't get piece of Batik to bring back to your country . One place that make Batik and distribute all over the country is Pekalongan. It is in Central Java, 2 hours drive from Semarang. Please do visit our city, it is a center of batik in Indonesia.
